No Reverse.

Help Support 4GTuner:

Jack, for repentance, just show pics of hot babes with nice boobies in the NWS General thread for the next 7 days straight.
Extra curriculum points if they are animated gifs.

Hey guys took off the end cap off the gear box this morning ...... and not good lol.

so reverse still cannot be selected, the fork moves up into the box for 5th gear but wont budge for reverse it clunks like its being stuck and hitting metal. the fork sits exactly on the edge of the syncro.

I also found what looks like melted metal in the top left hand corner of the reverse gearing in the hole, looks like it is a clip of some sort on the pics. what would be that melted metal piece???
also found some lovely bright blue filler from the last person......

so from looking inside gearbox oil is darker than engine oil. no oil came out of the box when I took off the drain plug so it looks like it was run dry and they have stuffed it :)

but it still goes forward in 1-5. might need those parts for a full refurb :)

any other ideas of what has happened to this poor thing.

i think the previous guy has hit something making a leak and has overheated the hell out of everything. as this oil is think n goopy like snot.
the oil on the gears is also think and sticky looks lik its been heated on.

Btw Jamo, Jack wins this round. That is actually an early box with no reverse syncro. Just a block plate.
And it does look like it's been bloody hot! I'd pull it out and strip it completely!

So if this thing has been run dry what will i need to change in the box... will the gears and syncros be ok. Im guessing all the seals that. Or is it a case of just opening her up and having a look
