Here's a video I captured this morning in the work car whilst driving by a mobile speed camera.
NSW is sooooo much better than you guys in VIC when it comes to the transparency of Mobile Speed Cameras on the road.

Comments:

A video showing a roadside Mobile Speed Camera set up along the Pacific Highway in a NSW identified Blackspot area (in this instance where a death had occurred at the intersection a few years ago). There are 2 small white signs positioned on the kerb advising "Mobile Speed Camera in Use" before you get to the marked vehicle parked on the side of the road monitoring passing speeds. There is a 3rd and final sign after the vehicle where your vehicle's speed would actually be registered.

Other Australian States can learn a lot from NSW when it comes to setting up Mobile Speed Cameras. In fact NSW Police are more interested in making their presence on the highways overtly known in order to reduce the speed of travelling vehicles rather than reactively catching vehicles one at a time. This is a proactive solution to slow vehicles down in the immediate instance which significantly improves road safety on NSW roads.

Other states such as Victoria for example, covertly hide their mobile speed cameras in garbage bins, behind bushes or bus stop shelters to catch speeding cars as they pass. They do nothing to slow down speeding vehicles as many drivers would continue speeding down the road risking the safety of themselves and other road users.
Which state puts Road Safety as their #1 priority opposed to revenue?
NSW of course.

There is very little wonder why Victorian motorists feel that they are hard done by with Mobile Speed Cameras positioned in areas to catch them out. e.g. at the bottom of hills, where speed zones change regularly, in back streets opposed to identified blackspot areas where speeding has been identified as a high cause of accidents.

yea those signs are great as it actually looks like its for road safety. Vic is just bullshit rules, had an encounter of a mobile camera parked behind a pretty big post at 4am. I mean you can still see it but atleast having a sign of somesort would mask the reasons to why the car is there aka revenue raising.
