odd factory options

Hi guys,

I was looking over my new japspec vr4 today and found that I have an odd factory option. just below my glovebox I have a flare. I also have an annoying chime that starts going off over 105kmh.

which got me thinking what other odd factory options do people have on their cars.

Mine came with Factory Internet Connection, Somehow, even without the battery, it has access to my bank account..

pre face lift jap spec, could be an 87 model, doesn't have climate control, has the mitsi emblem on the bonnet. only 1 dooby light works.

the ad said it was an 89 model though

mine comes with a vibrator under full boost.. picked up my new centre bearings today tho so it should be gone soon..

alot of the jspec's have the speeding chime - its fuckin annoying!

auto wipers = cool!

i only have basic a-specness, no momo upgrade, sunroof or anything

Mine has the rare optional James Bond pack, go full throttle for smoke screen and drop oil to hinder pursuing vehicles.


But seriously my Jap has nothing fancy - no beeps or anything. I was blown away by climate control, elec folding mirrors, rear wiper and double centre console when I bought it. My Aussie-spec has cruise, which was also amazing, to me at least. :thumbsup:

My JSPEC '88 VR4 has sunroof and cruise control.

the coolest option I like with the JDM VR4 is the color change Dash

no rear wiper, no climte control, wind up windows, no side intrusion bars in the doors. 1990 RS

If you have a flare it means yours is Japspec, as its a standard issue to issue flares with new cars in japland (well it was in the 90s!)

Sorry to tell you Craig but they are both standard on J specs, not options.
I guess I had better dig out my pictures of how to disable that chime and the speed cut eh.

Remove both screws circled in green. One is the speed cut, the other is the chime, can't remember which is which though but just remove both then it doesn't matter.
