Hey guys,

I'm using the Speedflow banjo bolt setup for the oil feed on my Garrett GTX3076 turbo (Speedflow part numbers are 300-05 for the 7/16"-24 bolt and 311-04 for the 7/16" banjo).

However when I go to install these parts into the oil feed on my turbo and do the banjo bolt up finger tight (with the 2 supplied alloy crush washers in position), the bolt bottoms out and leaves about 1mm between the top crush washer and the head of the bolt.

I know the turbo core has a raised 'seat' in the oil feed that I believe the banjo bolt is meant to seal on, but I just can't figure out what is causing this to happen. I am a bit cautious about just tightening the banjo bolt up and 'seeing what happens'.

How have you guys done the oil feed for your Garrett turbos? Have you had a similar problem?

The bolt is too long and you are running out of thread. It also happens with the oil feed from the head with aftermarket fittings.

I've done it plenty of times. Just make sure it is clean when rere installing. You can run a drill bit by hand on the inside to get rid of any debris. Also run a larger diameter drill bit to take off the sharp edge after cutting.

Hey guys,

How fine an oil filter did you use in your garrett oil feed line? I have an aeroflow -4AN inline filter that has a 30, 80 and 150 micron filters to choose from using.

Mine is quite large. Enough to filter large debris (never had anything come through yet). Approx 1mm gauge mesh.
