Simple one for everyone, finally decided to get a re locator kit as I'm sick of removing plumbing to change filters and once the 16g and bigger dump goes on its going to be virtually impossible.
I've done a search and it seems most people are using eBay aluminium kits which I'm happy to use if these do the job, probably get some pirtek fittings and hoses for it unless someone can reccomend a kit with quality hoses and fittings?
eBay links on the old posts had all expired so if someone can point me in the right direction that'd be great.
Engine is a 4g93t

i'm using one i got from autobarn it's an american made one so the fitting are imperial. one thing i found that you need to do with the kit i bought if you get the same.

1. take the nut held in by a circlipe spring out and take a belt sander to it file off the raised threaded section else it wont seal properly.

with this kit you also wont be able to run the standard z411 fileter but you will run a larger filter the filter thread is different to the z411 thread

for the most part im happy with it

Thanks mate, not really keen on having to mod anything though, I don't mind having to get hoses made up but I'd like a relocator kit that will fit straight on.
I was lookin at these two, no sure if the fittings are correct for a 4g93t though...?

How does everyone rate these kits? I like the fact that the oil cooler is so thin and can be mounted easily between the intercooler and radiator.

Worth the cash?

I have the permacool relocator kit. I bought my own hoses as they dont supply them long enough. Esp if you have the filter (Big Z9) on one side of the car and a cooler on the other side. The cooler is a bigger B&M unit and the whole system has been in for 6 years now and its been leaking for a little bit on the block. I have a new seal for the sandwich plate to put in. Apart from that no problem!

Thanks for that, I ended up buying one direct from perma-cool in the states with the cooler because it'll fit between my cooler and radiator.
I'm assuming its only leaking at the block because the seal is getting a bit old? Ill be running the cooler and filter on the same side of the car so it should all be fine I hope.

Depends on what the dump pipe clearance is with both of them fitted. If I can get away with both ill keep the water-oil sandwich plate in there, otherwise ill have to remove it.
Why do you ask?

cause it's a prick of a unit if you need a oring bruce lynton mitsubishi on the gold coast owe me an oil cooler oring. ordered 2 only got one. tbh i think they sold one on me and hoped i wouldn't notice

Ahhh right, well if it doesn't fit ill let you know and if you want to take it off my hands it's yours

I would guess there wont be much more room with it still in place.

If your going to remove the stock oil cooler you will have to raid a sohc block for the oil filter locating bolt as the locating bolt is quite long on the ones equipped with the cooler

Worst case scenario I'll just remove the one I have on the current engine which doesn't run the water/oil cooling.

Thanks Marc, I actually ended up buying one directly from the states with a thinner oil cooler, so won't be needing it. Cheers anyway.
