Is the vibration there if you free rev the motor, if so, then he got the balance shaft 360 degrees out.

yes it is there when you free rev it could this be causing damage ??

i wouldn't be driving it and i'd be asking for my money back...and he says he's a qualified mech...but yes you need this fixed asap

taking it back monday i just spoke to will at jhh and he informed me that the balance shafts havent been lined up properly

or it could be the new egine mounts somehow one is touching metal to metal but anyway its goin back monday to be fixed free of charge :)

As long as they fix it mate.

It's not about them stuffing up (shit happens), its about how they rectify the problem imo.

exactly right this guy might not be a mitsubish specialist but he is good they had the car for a month taking up space in their workshop hoist ect and they didnt charge me threw the roof

I hope for your sake that your mechanic knows how to set the hydraulic tensioner up better than he sets up balance shafts. Print out the pages from VFAQ for setting both the tensioner and the balance shafts and give them to him.

If I even thought that I had to give a mechanic instructions on how to do a job,
I take my car, and money elsewhere.

Personally, I'd rather just pay a competent mechanic and get it fixed right the first time.

Pretty sure it's just the rear engine mount had a look today and it's touching on metal somehow ....when I go around a roundabout turning right the vibration goes away

All sorted it was just the rear engine mount : ) has anyone else here had to grind a little bit off the rear engine mount?

Sure was but as I went to pick it up last night the clutch was feeling a bit suss now my master cylinder has shat itself lol 1 thing after the other cheap fix tho so I'm not bothered really
