Today i purchased a oil temp gauge and was going to fit a water temp also , ive come to the conclusion that if my oil temp is thru the roof my water will also be same or very close. Is there any reason i should have both or will oil be fine ? . I dont want to clutter my interior with to many gauges , im already running a plx devices wideband , avr boost controller and oil pressure.

oil temp should be enough if that starts to rise and the non linear water temp starts to go up you know you've got issues

oil temp > water temp anyday.
At least you have an oem water temp gauge in the stock cluster and it should sit normally on halfway. If it ever rises above 3/4 temperature then that's when you investigate the problem.

Thanks guys thats what i thought , my water temp sits just shy of half and has never risen more than that. Just want to have a little extra insurance i can see, to much has been spent on this engine so i just want to be sure its all running spot on while im on the road.
