Mazda RX-8 Club of Victoria have been advised by Winton management that our booking firmly stands in financial term even the event is undersubscribed at its current state. As we are told of our full commitment, we are fully motivated to organise a track day on Saturday December 13th 2008.

The cost will be $250 and EXCLUDES timing. There will be an absolute maximum of 30 participants, so as usual with our days, more expensive but more track time and less track traffic. If the number reaches anywhere near maximum, the club will subsidise the full timing fee. Otherwise, I guess the participants will have to pay for its service.

YOU WILL NEED:
Long sleeve and long pants of non flammable materials i.e. No Nylon
AASA license which can be bought on the day for $50 or CAMS L2S (if you bought a license last time you don't need to this time)
Closed footwear
Helmet that complies to Australian Standards (has ASA or Snell Sticker)
Car needs to be in a good condition, no oil leaks, no loose items in the car and battery secure.
Good condition tyres
Working seatbelt (give it a pull and make sure it locks)
Attached is the entry form. Please make payment by 4th Dec to confirm bookings. First in first serve. Entry form need to be snail mail to the address provided or scan and email it to me so I can print it out.

Thanks

Taka

Yes I totally agree it is important. However, most of us will have personal timing devices and only some of us will be willing to pay for it as an extra timing device (as of a month ago, it is still hand timing, not as good as the IR AIMS or GPS timing or PerformanceBox that people have... despite the big guy's strong point of view that his finger is more accurate haha.)

As I said in the post, if we have enough numbers for the day ... to share the timing cost (of the big guy's effort to sit down and read the numbers for the whole day). The club will pay for it.

We can always ask for it when people willing to pay extra.

30 people track day means 60 plus laps if you are game to take up all the sessions available... bring some fuel haha.

Fair enough but you should list extra cost. I don't know anyone who races their street car with in-built timing, sounds like something only the 'pros' use.

The problem is listing is I don't know what the cost is... there is a set price for timing and I don't know the cost until I know the final number. hehe.

Well AIMS Light TG costs $599, Driftbox costs $1200, Performance box costs $800, My Nokia GPS timer - RaceChrono (www.racechrono.com) timer $100 plus $180 for rpm, throttle and other data logged including intake air temp and coolant temp :).

Ha ha Ha, just sit behind (or infront) someone that does have a timing device and you will get your time. Good luck with the event.
