A friend is in pursuit of power but is the proud owner of a 99 pajero iO-_-. this little jigger uses the 4g93 sohc engine.....which is now on its last legs. Knowing i have played around the 93 and 63 engines for a while now he has asked the question.

can we put a 4g93t from a gsr in......or better yet a 4g63 stroker:lol:.
so I am researching:blink: anyone out there know of this having been done?

got a website?

I know it will require a bit of work on manifolding etc as the engine is a conventional north south orientation but was hopeful of using the same sump, clutch etc just bolted on to the 93 turbo engine.

ur best bet would be to find out what clutch it uses and if it is the same part number as the CC 93T lancers.. it could use a different sized block to the 93T's.. dow to dow length. i would be checking and comparing clutchs first.. if it matches out then look at the configuration of gearbox/bell housing.. etc..

wreckers are your best friend. look at mitsu express vans or mitsu triton utes :) strip parts off there.

go the 4g6 range. cant go wrong.

you can chop the tb flange off the inlet, and swap it to the other side, and make a custom exhaust manifold.

Hi all, I'm delaying my 69 colt SS and LA lancer projects to do a different Mitsi first...... I've just aquired a Pajero Io (99 model, no ABS/airbags 4g93).....
For years I've thought the way to go with one of these is to start with an engine from a JA/JB Starion, but now I'm wondering if I should I get a 2.6 form an late model Express???.
There were heaps of the Cyclone Dash engines in the Jap/Mitsubishi wreckers in Melb in the 1990's, would it be worth trying to find one of these?,
The io uses the same 4wd system as the v6/big pajeros, so it should handle decent power if driven sensibily, even stock Evo output would be a heap of fun in one of these.
Someone must of done something similiar before?
Any suggestions/advice on engine fitment/choice would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance.
