I have just been informed of the sad news that forum member Shane Wells "swellso" passed away last weekend.
I am unclear on the details of Shane's passing but it appears he may have taken his own life, thus the reason for this being posted in the private section.
Shane was a very close friend of mine, we spoke a couple of weeks ago and he seemed his normal happy self and was discussing the plan to purchase an E5 track car in the near future.
Just can't understand what would have tipped him over the edge.
Shane and I share a very friendly rivalry at all of the motorport events we attended together and it was always 10ths of seconds seperating our results.
The Domain Hillclimb is being held on the 13th of this month, this is one event that we used to run together and share that competitve rivalry, one of the last things I can recall him telling me was "with that tme you will have no excuse for not winning outright this year"
Rain hail or shine I am planning on driving the ass of that thing and dedicating my result to you mate.

RIP Shane
You will be missed:(

this is very sad news........and yes depression is a horrible thing.

may he rest in peace

please express my condolences to his family.

if there is to be a collection please let me know I would be happy to kick something in

WTF!! Every month there seems to be a story involving the death of a forum member these days. Very sorry to hear indeed, Shane was a great bloke with a wealth of knowledge that's for sure.

RIP

+1.

Terrible to hear, regardless of what happened it's not a nice thing.

I've never met Shane but he clearly knew his stuff and was always a friendly person on the forums.

Hang in there mate - best of luck for the hillclimb.

geesh this has got to be the worst year for news of this kind...

RIP Shane....

RIP Shane, always sad to hear news like this. make sure you win and dedicate the race to him Scotty.

We should think about creating a memorial section to remember all those who have passed.

It would somewhat keep their passion with us.

This is apparently the year for it. For the first time in my life I have 2 funerals to attend on the same day (Friday). Hearing this doesn't make things any better for any of us. RIP Shane and all the best to his family in this time.
