IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE
DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO
EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

I just got this email and thought i would post it up for everyone to see

im all for it, no fule for me that day

if today tonight or ray ran a storey like this it would be really good

They wouldnt, because it doesnt make sense, even if you didnt purchase fuel on X day, you'd still use and buy petrol on W, Y or Z days instead.

If everyone left their cars at home for a week, then there'd be trouble.

time to buy a bike

it would leave the profits for that day struggling, but the next day the demand is going to be higher,

as we all know, demand drives up the price, and when the price of petrol goes up, it never comes down, so you shoot yourself in the foot.

as i said ... time to buy a bike ... i dunno about everyone else but now that the weather is turning around a bit im gonna get a bike and ride everywhere ... only drive when i have to ... as i plain cant afford not to

unless its a moped dont expect to save too much on a moto, maybe a 250 would be ok if you dont ring it out everywhere you go. big bikes chew fule

i was thinking that night about the petrol strike & how no buying for one day would just make the following days demand increase

true true

vespas all the way

10 bucks for a full tank and it lasts over a week!~

Peter Stevens NIssan here (sells vespas) has sold like 35 vespas in the space of the last 2 weeks.

They freaked because they sold like 35 vespa's in 12 months, and sold 35 in the last 2 weeks. Was amusing when the salesman there told us that.

Starting to see a few of them about too.

They are -everywhere- in Italy.

I didn't say I believed them. I said I found it amusing.

Also, there is a marked increase of vespa's on the road here, so there may be some basis in fact. We weren't even looking at the things at the time, it was just a side comment.

THIS whole tread should be DELETED
ONE word SPAM
It will never work, now if EVERYONE didnt drive there car for 1 day that might have a small effect on them.

PS $1.58/pl BP Ultimate

How about instead, everyone just dodge paying for fuel for a week?

Will be pretty clear what we think about prices. If they dont drop them they would probably expect it to happen quite regularly!
