looking at buying some forged pistons
found some 4g6s gen 1 pistons for 6 bolt
+.20" (.5mm) oversize
85.5mm bore size
8.9-9.0:1 comp ratio

question is will i need to get the block bored
to accomodate these?

yup.....

i know of a few good places in logan...
-UMR engines
-Jack Brothers

there are 2 that come to mind that have done work for me that I have been very happy with

thanks craig
ill give them a call tommorrow
1 other question.
could i use these if i wanted to go stroker
or would i need something else?

if your rebuilding your current engine one one not stripped its best to measure(or get measured) the block/bore to make sure you buy the correct pistons. if the engine is already 85.5mm and the bore isnt great you would need to go to 86mm. it pays to buy pistons after.

you can use those for a stroker if you get a longer rod, otherwise you need a piston with a different pin height

nah, you need higher pins for a 2.4 crank(stroker) unless your using a 2.4 block. if you use longer rods with stock pistons in a 2.0 block all it will do is put the piston further out of the top of the block. the idea of the higher pin is to lower the piston back into the bore.

unless you use a stroker crank as well, which you have to do stroke the motor... eagle do a 2.2l stroker crank that you can use standard pistons with...

if you use standard pistons then a slightly longer rod than stock
if you use standard rods then the it needs a stroker piston.

What do you want forged pistons for anyway?
You will have to rebuild the motor completly if you want to put forgies in, you can't just slap them in place of your standard ones.
PLR in Brendale can do machine work.

yes im looking at rebuilding the motor
done enough to the ouside....
thought id start on the inside
pistons were a deal i couldnt pass by,
but yes i really should find out these things
before purchasing, id talked to a few people
just didnt no for sure
