Piston to wall clearance

Guys,

Very noob question here.

To measure piston-to-wall clearance, is it simply:

Cylinder Block ID - Piston OD

?

E.g.

Cylinder block ID measured at 85mm
Piston measured at 84.96mm
Piston-to-wall clearance = 85 - 84.96 = 0.04mm

and to clarify, you need to measure the bore at the skirt area, in saying that it is best left to the machine shop
