Please help. Gearbox needed!!!!

Just been informed that the internals of my (manual) gearbox in my RVR HSG R are screwed and need replacing. Mechanic states that he cannot find replacement parts at all. I need help desperately!!!! Please... Does anyone have a gearbox for sale or internals that are interchangeable with mine. Please, something.... Thanks in advance.

I have a VR4 box apart down here with decent internals that should be able to be used to fix yours. What year is you RVR?

It would be a 97 model as he has stated that his car is the hyper sport gear

Thanks, yes 97 RVR HSG R, transmissions are probably the only part of a car I don't fully understand (so of course that's what goes wrong with the car. Just gotta laugh). Is the internals interchangeable with the VR4? If so would, I would be interested and wouldn't mind the longer let's anyway. Cheers.

Pretty sure that the RVR hsg runs 3.9 gears meaning that I'd have to change everything except for the front diff and drive. Should be doable though fairly quickly. I live out near Willowbank, shoot me a pm and we can discuss the fine points there.

White Knight would really need to find out if his RVR front diff crownwheel and output pinion are damaged or not and go from there. The GVR4 internals are a bit different to EVO/GSR/RVR in that they have a GVR4 specific intermediate shaft and centre diff. See thread: http://www.4gtuner.com/topic/20287-centre-diffs/page__view__findpost__p__265987 . As far as GVR4 boxes go, I have an intermediate shaft and an input shaft complete (minus 5th gear and reverse) from a GVR4 with matching centre diff to go with it. I bought it off a member here last year for $300 and its been sitting in a box ever since - I'm up to sell at the same price. I also have a GVR4 58 tooth front diff crownwheel and output pinion too that goes with the set as mentioned for an extra $150. Good if someone damages a GVR4 box that uses the 3.545 rear diff ratio though. As for RVR parts, I have a few but not enough to build another one.
