i'm finally sick of constantly killing engine mounts so does anyone have the part listings for all 4 engine mount insert for VR4? and approx price for each?

i know it may be a rough ride but, its still cheaper then buying engine mounts every year...

cheers for any help
Jay..

Just be careful with the mounts cause my nephew changed his to urethane and then kept snapping the heads of the rear roll mount bolts on the block.

All you need is the 1g insert kit Jay. They should be on eBay under Prothane.
I've had mine in for a couple of years with fairly decent power with no issues.
There is s bit of extra vibration at idle but overall the ride is fine.

cheers guys, i found out i had some spares in the shed, ended up making them into solid mounts for now...

yes the vibrations have increased a little, but not enough to really notice.... grip on acceleration has gotten better too...

I have a full set of Prothane red's and yes, vibrations are increased at idle but that's what you get when you build a hipo engine without balance shafts, big cams etc too.
If we wanted smooth idles and less vibrations you wouldnt modif the engine at all

lol if i wanted to have a smooth car that felt bland, i would have bought a WRX :p (i actually like the STi's)

has anyone running solid mounts noticed, going from normal mounts to solid, that your clutch engages a shit load harder? it feels like i'm driving a puk clutch instead of a heavy duty clutch....

Kinda off topic, but are there standard type replacements as well? I want to ditch my Ralliart mounts for softer ones.

i guess buying OEM ones...

i did some swapping and testing of solid/stock engine mounts, best set up i can find and most comfortable ride
is to have solid mounts except the engine side. gets rid of the constant vibration from the engine throughout the car,
but wont eliminate the engines harmonic resonance peak which on my car was 1.8k rpm.... other wise a lot better
during freeway cruising..

The OEM soft ones suck ass... really. The older they get the more they suck as the engine begins to move about too freely and effects other things like exhaust, plumbing, angle of driveshafts etc. When they are bad you get worse vibrations than the solid ones! you also get the engine moving forward and backward with jolts under acceleration and braking which IMO could contribute to the firewall cracking in CC Lancers.
The Ralliart solids should have been made to be OEM on all the turbo Lancers, god knows they need it!

Been a while bro,

But I am use to mine except from time to time I have to tighten up screws that are coming loose in the most hard to reach places.

But no more vibration under acceleration, more control with the front end as well I feel.
