Hi Guys,

CC GSR won't start... had this issue occur a week ago randomly, and then it started 2 mins later when I tried again.
I noticed it sounded like whatever in the dash was going a bit silly, probably some sort of relay, didn't sound great anyway. Hasn't done it since the very first time.

Then its done the same thing randomly, maybe 3 days later.

This morning doesn't even sound like the fuel pump turns on? I can't hear that high pitch wine anyway, and the thing doesn't attempt to start/crank over.

Battery seems fine.

Where to start looking?

Don't think its the CAS either, relay under ash tray? Part number I think is MD175835?

Anyways, will just get it towed I guess...

Edit: Bah, started after another few goes, I could hear the relay tick over when you turn the key to ignition, kinda sick of this intermittent issue, might just replace that relay first, then if it continues, fuel pump, dono. I'd rather it was just broken, than intermittent.

Mmm but mine hasn't died just driving or anything like that.

Its just been intermittently not starting the last two weeks. Seems electrical to me. Third time its happened now.

I think I'll start with that relay suggested in that thread, then look at my immobilizer (not sure where the relay is that I assume cuts the starter motor, unsure if its inside the unit or outside?), and probably look at the fuel pump.

Dono, I'm no mechanic, hence asking the guru's here :D
The keys don't have a chip in them either right? Fairly sure they're just plain keys yea? So I could probably rule that out? Does the key barrel stuff up?

Dono if its the immobilser/alarm, I hadn't set the alarm on to begin with.
Of course, started fine driving back from work tonight.

Stupid intermittent faults.

Lucky the last owner keep the alarm manual, the relay that cuts the starter motor is in the unit itself, so I'll take a look at it. I don't think its the alarm/immobilser though causing the fault.
The first time it happened it sounded like some cool funky sounds were coming from the dash around the headunit area, so it might be that relay, dono, will fark around I guess.

Well been fine the last few days, nfi, although now I've noticed my demister button won't light up when its pushed in, although the demister itself seems to work fine (you can see it de-fogging the rear windscreen...), think I'll try get one from the wreckers.. hrm why so ghey.... :S

Edit: Got another button, same... hrm, how can I find out what voltages the wire pins should be?
Edit 2: Checked all fuses, seems fine.

Edit 3: Just noticed, do our cars come with an astray light? Never seen that working either...? Can't see why else there'd be a plug running to an ash tray :S

Yep, will replace it, dono what that size it, but its small and has a blue sleeve over it.
Will also fix my cigarette lighter socket, pretty sure the tabs just need bending in...

Still need to figure out why my LED won't work with the demister, I can hear the relay activate under the dash. I've checked all fuses under the dash, even in the engine bay. Manaul says check fuse no 15 or relay.
