okay couple weeks ago i serviced my car and changed all oils, after driving it i noiticed a clunking noise coming from the rear, i used redline lightweight in the diff which the guy said was recommend, so after hearing the noise i droped the oil the next day and used redlight heavyweight. It only makes the noise when reversing or when going around corners, and only when its in gear becuase i put the car in netural and it didnt make anynoise going around a corner. can some one please help me out on the problem im thinking the dif is stuffed?
thanks in advanced for any help or info guys

is the diff a plate lsd?

if it is....get rid of that oil. It makes the plates snatchy. if you keep the oil and it is an lsd you could try a friction modifier but it didnt work for me

lsx90, and if its noisy the genuine mitsubishi friction modifier

I have a bottle in the shed if you need the part number

If you have trouble with Mitsu LSD additive, since you are using Redline oil, purchase Redline LSD additive. Plate LSD's need LSD compatible oils. Basically as Brian described.

I had the same issue and fixed it with the additive.
I'm on Redline heavy also in the rear.
Same deal with the front with my kaaz LSD.

Does it improve as the oil heats up?
