as some may know i have only just got my evo 6 anyway i would like to know what power stock people are getting and then with what mods did they get what?

my goal is just 200kw at all fours nothing super fast or nothing spesh i been told i can do that with stock turbo is that true? and what other mods will i need

Car has upgraded intercooler piping
i belive a upgraded intercooler not 100% intill i see a stock on but everyone who has seen my car belives it is

i got a cat back exhuast 3inch

batt relocation and air filter (not boxed but will be soon)

i have front and rear staberlisers and a cusco front under body brace
(rear one for sale so i can get another one)

can some one give me ideas on how i can reach 200 at all fours? and what boost can i put though the car?

fuel pump
computer
dump + front pipe + high flow cat or cat delete pipe
HKS air intake with pipe kit
manual or electronic boost controller set to 1.4 bar

that'll pull 200kw atw on even the meanest dyno

Thanks for your help i just signed up to evolution oz and started reading that as alot more info on it

why the HKS Pipe? as i already have a pipe kit with the battery relocated that should be fine should it?

yeh for sure if your pipe kit includes intake and battery relocate your on a winner

forget about the hks pod filter and go an apexi best filtration and power gain.

but if u want a complete system get your hands on an arc unit.

Tenji you like the ARC unit? I've got one on mine and I wish I got the HKS with hardpipe kit

yeh i like the arc unit if i didnt have the apexi pod installed already when car was purchased i would have gone that...

hks/ sponge type pod filters dont filter too well someone did a test on it awhile ago i will try find the link again for u :)

out of all the filters hks and apexi had bout the same power gains yet apexi had best filtration and hks had one of the worse if not the worse.

Yeh I've read something along those lines before as well. I believe the Apexi doesn't need oiling either. The reason I like the HKS is because it comes with the hardpipe kit, which is meant to give big gains over the standard hose setup. I'm trying to get my hands on a hardpipe kit to use with the ARC box atm.

yeah the apexi is a dry unit no need for oil . just need to clean it every now and then.

you could probably get different piping for air filters. i will probably run a hose through the inner guard later on but i had that setup on my golf in the inner guard and when theres heavy rain and minor floods you cld have problems with it sucking up water. mines like this atm

which airbox is that?
I noticed that link is to an MKIV site. You a Supra fan as well?

im into any car that has a good motor big fan of the 1jz's and 2jz's currently thinking of starting a project with a toyota motor :)

thats just my apexi pod filter with a heat shield attached to it. works well all i need to do is run an air intake piping through from frontbar to it and it should do well.

you made the shield yourself? looks good
I had a supra before the Evo. spent many hours trolling MKIV & supraforums

ahh okay.

nah it came with the car.

but not hard to make.

i love the arc intake box though.

if i could i would go arc fmic and alu radiator aswell.

but pretty pricey.

but if i didnt have my apexi dual intake filter already i would go for an arc.

if you saw the link i showed u on the hks filter its pretty appalling how little it filtrates.

The sole reason for running an ARC airbox over an apexi or hks pod is legalities. You can't be dicked (unrwc) for an ARC airbox as its enclosed. If you get a HKS or Apexi pod you need to create an airbox to go around them for whatever reason the law says.

I will be running an ARC airbox from an e3 on the vr4 with custom hardpipes.

RSEA is on the ball if you only want 200kw @ wheels. Just get either a motec plug & play or an Apexi Power FC.

I'd like the ARC radiator & intercooler as well but without a bigger turbo would they help much? I was under the impression the stock stuff was pretty good

i would not go near a hks pod filter there mushroom type ones are crap i was lucky enough to have one on my 1jz and it nearly blew my turbos as the turbos sucked the foam part into the turbo fans lucky it was when i was working on the engine and not driving it would have been alot worse

my car came with a pod filter and with relocation i will get a pic tonight and post it up for you all to give you a idea

it's funny you say that because a HSV at the sprints last season had it happen while he was competing. It ended up stuck in the throttle body jamming it wide open. The HSV went off in a big way and ended up badly damaged. Didn't realise it was a common problem though. Thats bloody terrible

yeah im not the 1st it has happen to i know of 3 mates who had it happen to i was the lucky one the rest all need ether a new turbo or a rebuild of engine

so im happy i got a hks mushroom if anyone wants it :p lol needs new foam lol
