Hey guys currently in the process of turboing my proton satria gti 2001 4g93dohc so far the goodies I have on the way is.
Lancer evo 2 gsr ecu with elinck or what it's called
609 evo maf
510cc injectors
works fuel rail and fittings
oil filter relocator kit
6g72 1995 magna throttle body
and upgraded fuel pump

Yet to get is
a td05 16g
stainless turbo manifold
550x300x80 front mount intercooler
2.25 intercooler piping

What troubles did you guys converting run into what parts would I need extra and what won't work out thanks in advance ps learning new things every day so take it easy on me haha cheers guys and gals
Alex

Definitely get an install kit for the td05, I had problems with intercooler hoses blowing off and clamps not clamping, make sure you use new clamps if you are planning on running decent boost.

If you're running a factory engine, it won't handle 13psi from a TD05 16g. You'd want to be running actuator pressure at an absolute maximum (9psi), even then you'll be straining the standard rods with the 16g.

If you want to run a bolt on kit without opening the engine up, I'd say get a td04l and run factory boost. The high comp/responsiveness of the td04 is awesome fun in front wheel drive and it will be a very quick little car.

The year model Satria you have runs the SIEMEN's ECU and wiring setup, not the 1998-2000 Gti/M21 Mitsuibishi ECU and wiring.
There may be a problem deciphering the Proton wiring and sensors to suit the Mitsu ECU.
From memory your model would have the CAS at the front of the engine, plus other sensors on the intake manifold and a bunch of other diffrerent engine control relay and electrics.
IF you've nutted out the differences, then all good.

The seimans / VDO ecu plugs and the look are completely different to the mitsu based ones (pre 2000 gtis)

Throw a pic up of the engine bay

Yeah will get a pick after work boys but it's not a Siemens ecu it's running maf not map it's from 2002 they change to Siemens ecu all the running gear is mitsubishi

I hope you have means of bringing the compression down (decompression headgasket, low compression pistons) you will never be able to run descent boost without Pre-ignition occuring.

Yep and you're right its the Mitsu ECU version.
I went through my tech sticky on the evocoupe forum from doing a Gti engine conversion into my wife's Lancer a few years back:

Let me clear a couple of things up first, there are 2 different versions of 4G93P engine used by Proton:
* 1997-2002: Mitsubishi ECU version engine with Air Flow Meter and Crank Angle Sensor
* 2003+: SIEMENS ECU version engine without AFM and CAS on the back of the head. The CAS sits on an arm next to the harmonic balancer which has teeth cut into the side of the wheel. It also uses a Bosche throttle body and Bosche coil setup.

Here is what you'll need:
  1. GSR Manifold
  2. Turbo (Td04/5)
  3. Oil lines T-pieced into Oil feed
  4. Water lines T-pieced into throttle body coolant lines
  5. Oil return line drilled and welded to sump (or run a GSR sump)
  6. GSR ECU
  7. GSR 390cc injectors
  8. Intercooler & piping - GSR sidemount bolts up or you can run a front mount
  9. Fuel pump is the same as GSR but you can upgrade to VR4 for future mods
  10. Dump pipe or down pipe from factory dump if your turbo comes with it
  11. AFM is the same as GSR so no point in swapping.
All of the above can be fitted and run to 9psi without any problems (depending on the condition of your engine) - this is a proven setup people have run in the past and one which I ran for around 7-8 years.

You can upgrade the AFM, turbo, injectors etc, however you probably will need to adjust the tune to suit, as all of these variables will have an affect on fueling.

I think that's pretty much it from memory. Happy to help out if you get stuck with anything, I have a few spares laying around from my setup that may help - aluminium intake pipe/filter/AFM/heat shield, cold side cooler piping.

Thanks vin18m well my ecu is on its way and has ecmlink or what it's called apparently tunable logging etc got the 609 maf and was going to go with a decompression gasket td05 16g and also have 510cc injectors

No worries.

Tune-able ECU and decompression plate will mean you'll be fine with the bigger turbo in that case.

these days decomping is just lazy its very possible to get good reliable power from a highcomp turbo. hell theres an e8 in mexico running 12:1 on 40psi making 900hp. on a std block would i push more than 10-12 psi into it hell no the 4g93 rods are weak as hell but the 9.5:1 comp ratio they have is hardly high to begin with. i myself was looking to build using a set of sohc flat pistons to bring the ratio up and with it extra response.

when you tune don't be to agressive stay conservative with the boost and don't get to greedy with power.

That's exactly what I thought of its simply easier but many have said running the standard pistons on 10psi is like a gsr on 17psi no idea how quick it would be but I'd love 150kw at the fronts
