meet

so this is where you got to craig. Is your car all running sweet yet?
I'll be taking mine out to Willowbank sometime after xmas to try out some new mods, will let you know when.

Rob.

Took you long enough to find this plac Rob... lol
I won't be getting out there until my mods are all done, or at least the injectors.
I'm getting 99% duty cycle on only 12psi atm :(

good to plan early guys!

i just visted APC today, I saw 2 vr4s!..
one silver with a massive front mount
and one black with gold chromes and big turbo / rebuilt motor..

very nice indeed..

anybody here own them?

Barry barry barry. Did you leave business cards?

Also, this THREAD IS DEAD. Initial post day was like june 06 or something for the august 2 months later (or 4 months ago whichever you prefer).

meet

Apologies for draggin up an old thread.

Tim, i've been lurking around in here since J style defected, just haven't been bothered to join up til now. Looking forward to tinkering over christmas and then testing it out. It was January this year that I last sent it down the strip, its almost an annual thing.

meet

most of my mods up until now (apart from the exhaust) have been to make it stop & turn more so than going faster, but hopefully all thats going to change.

Still been running around with standard boost all year cause i've got some major leaks around the injectors to fix which is causing boost cut at anything over 12psi of boost.

Over christmas, i've got a chipped ecu to put in (bye bye fuel cut), evo3 injectors (hello more boost), walbro pump (hello noise) and I may have a small 16G to put on (depends whether I get off my butt and get it reco'd in time or not) and some Silverstone semi slick tyres on 17"s to put on.

That should be enough for me to keep up with the sti's and evos on the tarmac rallies (and maybe even give some of them a little touch up).

I plan just to put the chip, walbro and injectors in, leave the turbo and boost standard and take it out to Willowbank to see if there is any difference, in theory, there shouldn't be any but it will be interesting to find out. After that, up goes the boost  and there goes my clutch  .

lorrie, didn't realise it was such an old thread!!
LoL

no cards sorry, i dont have any

these vr4's at apc had massive front mounts.. seriously.. the aspec had the cooler mounted outside of the front bumper.. lol

the black one looked nice..

test & tune Sat 10 December

I'm probably going to drag my sorry ass out to a test & tune tommorrow night for a spectate, any one else want to come?

Willowbank test & tune Wednesday 11-1-2006

I'm thinking about going out to Willowbank tomorrow night to see how the chip, injectors and fuel pump go.

Anyone else allowed out on a school night?...Tim?...Craig?...Anyone?

I'd love to go out rob but alas I can't, other commitments.
And as I work every saturday we might have to see if we can organize a Sunday up there if they race on Sunday's that is.
Given a couple of months I should have a few new bits and pieces on mine
too
Have to definately take it out for a run then :)

i would join you up there rob, but the engine is in pieces on my garage floor, im replacing the pistons and rings in the next couple of weeks, then i will get a new turbo, cooler and piping and the it should be sweet, can't wait to get it back on the road, its been about 3 weeks since i have driven it anywhere, dammit

dunno yet time, 1 thing at a time mate, have to get the engine out and replace the pistons and rings first, that should be fun, once i have found the clutch cable and taken off the drive shafts. probly get a big 16g or a 20g with ss manifold and 600x300 cooler with 2.5/3" piping, as well as a bigger throttle body and intake elbow, then i will look at upgrading the fuel side of things.

You'll find it doesn't have a clutch cable Craig, look under the box at the near the radiator and you will see the slave cylinder for the clutch :)

If it was me i'd be doing th fuel system and cooler/piping before I threw on a big turbo.
big turbo+boost+stock fuel system = bye bye motor :(
My 16g on stock boost maxxes out my injectors as it is :(

yeh i realised that about the clutch cable tim, and it is a good point you make about the fuel system

will have to wait and see what happens after the engine is put back together, i might be happy with it after the rebuild
