I've been browsing your forums for a few days and have a couple of questions for ya.

In a thread or two I've seen people talking about getting things like forged rods off of ebay, or smaller items etc.

I've calculated the cost of some of these items plus shipping and could potentially save you quite a sum of money on some of these things I think (depending on how much they are locally)

For example, I can regularly find Eagle forged H-Beam rods on ebay for 315.00 USD shipped to me (sometimes less), then I can ship to Sydney (or wherever, I used sydney for a quote on postage) via United States Postal Service for

Economy Surface Parcel Post 4 to 6 weeks = 19.25usd

Airmail Parcel Post 4 to 10 days = 28.70usd

315.00 insurance for this item would be 5.90usd

The bottom line is a set of forged Eagle H-Beams for *drumroll*
~460.00AUD 4 to 6 week delivery w/insurance
or
~475.00AUD for 4 to 10 day delivery w/insurance

Now here in the states when I buy a part online or from another private party there are no taxes or tariffs, I don't know anything about Australias regulations etc but it seems I can get em over there pretty cheap. Any interest or ideas on this?

Thanks for the gesture :D It's always good to save a bit of $$ and I've bought bulk goods from overseas to save on shipping costs etc compared to prices over here in Oz. Luckily I havent had any problem yet other than an incorrect prothane engine mount worth only $30US to ship another back to me [touch wood].

When we buy from overseas we gotta carry an element of risk that the right product turns up and isnt damaged in some way. If you spent a lot of $$ and got the wrong product or the goods were damaged then it could potentially be a royal pain in the ass :roll: . There's communication delays, extra costs in sending the item back for exchange, dodgy suppliers, and the time factor. Provided all things go smooth sailing with a trusted supplier it can be good, but if not you could end up paying more than what you can buy the item for over here.

Each to their own really as some prefer paying a bit extra locally for peace of mind that you can return an item back to the supplier the next day under warranty or what not. What price can you put on risk? :roll:

Well as far as postal errors i.e. damaged parts or what have you, that's why I would more than likely insist on having shipping insurance, to counter the "wrong part" problem the items would be shipped to me personally obviously before I in turn send em out to whomever.

I'd be more than willing to help you out with getting a set of 3G lifters mate, just let me know.

Lifters = 105.00 usd
Shipping = 16.00 usd
Insurance = 3.80 usd
Grand total = ~125.00 usd, converted = ~170.00 aud

A balance shaft elimination kit is 85.00 shipped and insured with 4 to 6 day delivery (after it gets shipped to me), and 3G lifters would be 170.00 shipped, it would probably take 3 or so days to get shipped to me, and then 4 to 10 days to get to you.

Please note that these are just parts that I would be ordering off of ebay or other vendor site (if I can find em cheaper there) and then shippin' down to you. Again, I have NO clue if any of these prices are competitive or better than what you can find down there as I have no access to that information. I'm just a fellow 4G enthusiast and this is in no way shape or form a "business" as I'd be getting these parts to you for exactly what I pay for them. Cheers.

Well no one's PM'd me yet about anything they were just passively interested. If you want something just lemme know :D
