Is it normal for the breaks to make a 'thump' noise when you're rolling backwards then break?

I seem to hear it when reversing in/out of garage but never hear it when rolling forwards...

cheers :)

do you have all the clips and shims in you calipers still,

could be the pad moving in the caliper a little bit.

pads sit at the front then when you rebverse they slip back in the caliper.

maybe

May also be a crack in your rear crossmember ..... or something to do with your rear swaybar.

check it anyway, its a common problem

Hrm ill get the breaks checked I guess... I think its coming from the rear the thump sound. Maybe time for new rotors perhaps too, I'll have to see.

Yea Dan, service due around now, so I'll get this swaybar/crossmemeber checked, I do hear this sound like as if something fell on the car, well something falling on the roof sound, im sure its from the rear somewhere. Usually when Im going up/down the driveway.... :S

Also theres one last thing, this rare/occasional 'clang' noise, Im fairly sure its in the drivetrain somewhere... if you back off accelerator then foot back on it can sometimes go 'clang', usually I hear it though when I reverse out of the driveway then put it into first, take off and clang. Beh.
