Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of removing my manifold from my GSR. The bracket stops the manifold from pulling out easily, how should I go abouts getting around this to have the manifold removed completely?

How annoying... I don't see any bolts that the brackets goes with, unless it's the one that is right near the strut tower? Is it ok for me to loosen it that way, then remove?

Peace.

Its got a bracket under the manifold that bolts its to the side of the block. You'll need to remove this. You're pretty much pressed for space as it is between the intake and firewall. You'll just have to remove what you can to get it out, and fiddle around with different angles and heights to free the intake manifodl away.

Sorry guys,

I was talking about the exhaust manifold! I have removed all the bolts underside and everything, it's coming off, but it's blocked by that bracket.. Think it was the power steeering pump! I don't know what that bolts to and it doesn't feel like it wants to move...

Any ideas?

I removed the bracket, ground off the material required to remove the manifold next time without moving the bracket....

^^^^^^taught him everything he knows.....lol^^^^^^^

This is the best way, unfortunitly its only a benefit to manifold removing in the future. hopefully something you wont have to do too often

you have to loosen the power steering pump and pull it back a little. the bolts are inbetween the pump and the block.

I do see bolts that hold the pump on the bracket and possible two more behind the pump, is it ok if i loosened these? Won't it make the belts loose? I think there was 3 bolts that hold that pump in place, then another couple holding the bracket to the block?

I just want to make sure before I mess something up with those belts!

BTW. Does anyone know where I could get a new O2 Sensor?

Peace.

you need to loosen the belts so the pump will move far enough from the block to get to the other bolts. yes the belts will come loose. to retighten the belts use a pry bar to lean on the pump and tighten the bolts back up. hope this helps.
