Help Support 4GTuner:

Maybe if they had marketed themselves better and didnt charge a body organ for their products and merchandise they'd have some income to spend where it counts :(
Fkn sad, sad, sad....
I watched some of the Mexican Rally today and fuk Loeb is kicking ass out there. Its a bloody Citroen vs Ford show!! Almost as bad as watching Holden vs Ford now! :(

I got an email today from ralliart parts and it will not affect competition cars at all as they will still carry all of the parts

phew

its been citroen vs ford for like the last 10 yrs... ive always backed the fords and have been watching WRC for like the last 18yrs at least..

if mitsubishi were in it i would prob back them but they dont even bother to put a car in. I think its pathetic that Mitsubishi mass produce a rally car (evo) yet they arent good enough to compete at a professional level..?? which is what they say the car is meant for...?? what a joke.

Pitting a mass produced car built for Group N against a WRC kit car is hardly a worthwhile venture. They knew that years ago and that's why they pulled out when they did.

yeah and the turbo ford focus xr5 is hardly WRC material but look where they are...

thats the point, look how many years ago mitsubishi pulled out yet they continue to market "rally" cars lol

I don't follow you, an XR5 Focus has pretty much nothing in common with a WRC Kit car except for a similar external appearance.
And I don't think you would find a state or national championship anywhere in the world which wouldn't have Evos of various ages including current ones in it.
The WRC is not representative of the current state of rallying in total.

the point with the focus is that Ford are backing it and taking it to the top "factory support" something which mitsubishi has none of.

look at the australian rally with the super 2000 corolas, TRD backed.

im saying mitsu has been out of the game for like 10yrs not just now as of april 2010.

I though it was Malcolm Wilson's company that did it all.

look at the australian rally with the super 2000 corolas, TRD backed.
TRD Australia was Neal Bates, and Toyota pulled their assistance (which I believe was just for supplying body shells) for Neal early last year.

No, they haven't run a factory backed team since they destroyed the Aussie car class in Australian Rallying, but there are hundreds if not thousands of private teams which fly the Mitsubish colours for them instead.

what are you on about?? Malcom wilson is employed by ford... its not some private company lol

TRD developed neal bates and that husband wife combo (cant think of their name) whole car, engine, chassis etc but this is a little off topic...

exactly , hundreds of thousands of PRIVATE teams with no factory backing at all from mitsubishi.....!!!!!!

If you score an outright place in a rally with an Evo (any model Evo), even at a small club event, Ralliart Australia reward you with credits to your account. A mate bought a brand new Evo 3 gearbox using credits he had earnt from rally wins. That's pretty good "factory backing" for privateers in my books.

in regards to Msport - 3rd paragraph: At the end of that season, Ford selected the team to take over the running of its WRC programme, Malcom wilson is just the boss of that team he runs it with the support and backing of FORD.

same deal with Neal bates - i dont doubt there is a neal bates motorsport but the fact is that TRD developed the car and engine, neal bates just told them what he wanted and said he would pilot the car. http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/toyotatrdcorolla.jpg this is the ARC rally corolla not one covered in "neal bates motorsport" decals.

haha how many points did your mate have to earn for that?? is it like fly bys points? woulda taken your mate like 5 yrs and 400 wins to get that free gearbox.??

the point im trying to make once again is that i just think mitsubishi should be doing more in the WRC after all thats what their cars are all about.. thats what made ralliart to begin with. they were just no good from the sec the evo7 came out it went downhill in WRC for mitsubishi.

Some advice for you all, don't bother trying to arm wrestle Simon at an after party at a rally, I don't think anyone has managed to beat him yet, certainly not at any of the Rally of Queensland parties :).
WRC is dead, ARC is dead.
Club level rallying is where it's at!

True Rob, the Evo contingent in the club scene is very strong. Even noticing a lot more Evo's becoming prevalent in circuit and hill climb events too. They're just one of those cars you can buy and do very little work to become quite competitive in many forms of motorsport :)
