Ok guys, Rally of Melbourne is on NEXT WEEKEND!!!! (9-11 November).

All the cars are going to be on display (about 48 in total) from around 4pm on Friday at Docklands. We're starting 15th (rapt with that!)

From there, there is a ceremonial start then hit the forests around the Yarra Valley Sat and Sun. The service park is at Yarra Glen.

Come out and support the Evo's in action - Evo's are starting 5th (Spencer Lowndes, ex Mitsubishi factory driver Evo 9), 9th (Justin Dowel current Victorian Champion Evo 9), 10th (Brett Kipling Evo 5), 13th (David Hills, Evo 7 or 9...can't remember!), 14th (Bruce Fullerton Evo 6), 15th (me, Brenton Kaitler, Evo 6) 23rd (Liam Dunn Evo 3), 33rd (Warren Lee Evo 2), 36th (Hilary Evans Evo 2) and 38th (Mark Haybittle Evo 6).

Plus theres a host of VR4s and 2 Mirage Cyborgs (including my old car from last year, run by Molly Taylor this year).

Be an awesome weekend out-service park at Yarra Glen racecourse is a great place to see all the cars up close. Come and check it out - if you haven't been to a real rally in the forest before, then you haven't seen what Evo's are designed for...forget dyno days, motorkhanas, track days or the like-they are there to destroy the competition in the forests around the world!!!!! hehehe I love it!!

Anyway, feel free to pm me for more info, or check out my website (http://www.rallyesport.com.au) or http://www.rallyofmelbourne.com.au.

Entry list is here... http://documents.rallyofmelbourne.com.au/2007 NGKROM Entry List V6.pdf

Best place to go is Yarra Glen racecourse. That's where the heart of the rally is as it is the main service park.

All the stages run around the surrounding forests. Hope to see you there!

unfortunatly there are reports from rally.com.au that Brenton went off road thisarfternoon on SS8, with to much damage to continue Heat 2. Fortunatly he and simone are okay.. such a shame as they were running 5th at the time! Bad luck guys.. :(

Glad there ok, the E6 looked very strong to

there was alot or cars that didnt finish, you have to be pretty fearless to rally, I have heaps of respect for you guys, i would chicken out straight away

one WRX burnt to the ground
which I saw on the back of the trailer today

yeh heard about the bunt rexy.. not cool.. that is my nightmare by far, id be happy to have a huge off, aslong as it doesnt burn!..

As for Brenton... here is a pic..

as for being fearless, i dont know, i dont really think about it, tho i dont like going in with other people, that can be a little scary :p i could never co-drive, they deserve the most respect!

Hey there,
We were having an awesome run, car was just magical on the early stages and particularly good on Marginal (narrow, red clay surface). A bit slow on Mt Slide as it is mainly uphill hairpins - we are running a stock standard evo engine and ecu so not much torque out of the corners.

Broke a diff mount on stage 4 which meant we spun on stages 4 and 5 - not fun at the 175kph we saw at one stage!!!!

Had it all fixed in the 30 min service (our service crew are absolute guns!) to go out again. Was having an awesome run through Marginal 2- the surface was black from all the rubber down and literally felt like driving on a narrow strip of bitumen. However did get ever so slightly offline and went off. Hit a tree that was fairly soft so damage is not too bad. Bumper and bonnet plus some mechanicals and put it on the rack again.

We're so rapt with the pace the car has-it's an absolute rocketship and really for the level of standard-ness the car is should not be as high in the results.

I'll have some video on youtube shortly, however looks like we will be in the ARC coverage this weekend on channel 10 - check it out guys!!

Cheers,
Brenton
