Hey Guys a couple of questions about fitting some EVO bits to my GSR. I've fitted on the bonnet (EVO 123 - Alloy) but where the bonnet clips down to the bonnet slam panel i.e. where it clips into the body. The release lever needed to be pulled down out of the way (literally bent at 90 degrees) or it would not even close down - and even once it was pulled out of the way, the bonnet did not sit down properly.

Is there a different slam panel or clip for holding down the bonnet?

Having said that the bonnet does not seem to sit down flush (nothing is sticking up underneath - I stripped the guards off and could see in). So I suspect the bonnet may be twisted or out of shape.

I was also fitting on the front bumper (again evo) and there is no way of holding it at the top - on the bumper there is some tabs but they have nothing to bolt up to - is there some other brackets that are needed? or do you just make your own mount points.

Thanks - appreciate your help.

cheers

There must be something wrong with either the bonnet or the catch..it should be a straight swap over.
As for the tabs at the top..the evo radiator support has some brackets spot welded on it that these attach to...you can make some up if you prefer, or some use a radiator air diversion panel.

Hope they genuinely didnt know and give ya money back, cheeky f**kers
ya dont wanna risk the bonnet smashing ya window and roof.

That actually happened to me, at 110km/hr ... F/g bonnet let go, and almost ripped straight off on the freeway ... Scariest thing ever...

Ditch the standard bonnet catch and install some lock-able aerocatch pins. Looks "fully racer spec" and will definitely keep your bonnet down whilst driving!

Whoa, happened to me too, lol, came back to the car an some little spoof face nicked my pins, thought it would have been sweet to drive down to get more but latched ripped out of the stupid f/g on the way down

Shane- ya sounding old, the kids say "cos racecar" now days, lol, but im on board with the aero's, cant steal my pins now ya bastards

^ Fixed for you Jamie :p

My Evo bonnet doesn't sit right either, its 10 mil higher than the fender on the drivers side, but matches up pretty well on the passenger side. Have tried adjusting the rubber twisty things with no success. I think the bonnet is just out of shape.
