Depends on what car it come out of and what year. You also have 4G63DT as marked on pistons of the DOHC VR4/EVO engine. The earlier 2 litre out of the Starion were belt driven SOHC turbo engines and were mainly referred to as the BT's for years so shouldnt be confused with the DT's DOHC 4G63's. If someone is using the term 'BT' to describe an EVO/VR4 engine its technically incorrect. :)
 
No wonder there's so much confusion :lol: and its an interesting question. I know the 'B' stood for 'belt' and 'T' for 'turbo' years ago on the old SOHC 4G63's that had G63B as part of the engine number stamped into the blocks. VR4/EVO 1-3 dont have 'G63B' stamped in the engine number on the blocks as far as I know, only '4G63'. What do the EVO4+ have stamped on them?
