removing fuel pump?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

You should weld a -6 fitting on instead....then upgrade the rubber line from cradle to hard line in front of rear wheel to teflon with -6 fittings on either end. Sooo much easier to work with if you need to remove it again...and a flow upgrade at the same time. I have pics somewhere of how I did mine if you want?

She's ALIVE!!!!

Got Pirtek to make me up some new connections, and just went with a standard EFI hose to get her up and running..

I didnt think that push on hose was good enough for efi pressures. (I know you have it k). You have 50psi plus boost pressure in there.
It seems im fairly opportunistic (dodgy) around here, but push on hose as a efi pressure feed line is something i wouldnt do.

in saying that, maybe my wrx had push on hose as oem to the filter?? Not sure. If oem do it, its not so bad.

Same setup as most stock applications..

Pirtek bloke uses the same setup on heavy machinery, and reakons she will be sweet.. He was saying the pressure on their hoses far exceedes what runs through EFI cars.. So should be good...

I hope.. :(

Hose that was on before is a metal style bolt with what is pretty much a crimp connection to attach to the pipe.. So one could argue worse than a clamp.

The clamp connectors are a small unit, that is very sturdy, and designed specifically for EFI hoses and high pressure..

Pretty sure with the barbed fitting they have used its fine. Have you ever tried to get one off once its been clamped on? Its nearly impossible without cutting it off.

$39 .. How mad is that!

I already had the EFI clamps. And the piece of hose was something stupid like $3.99..

Unbelievable I tell ya...
I know.. I was gonna get to just make up the pipe with the 2 joins.. But he asked to see the pump assembly, as he had an "idea".. I was gonna just go to a local place instead, cause I didn't want to pull it all out again...

But thought.. What have I got to lose.. So did it.. Left it with him overnight so he could have a play, and done.. Lolz..
