Hey guys im gonna attempt to take the head off my 4g63 just wondering if there is a order to take the head stud bolts out in and if there is anything else i should know b4 i try to take it off

Thanks for any help

I hope you have a 10mm allen/hex key socket handy with 1/2 inch drive otherwise buy one

A new head gasket would be preferred too.

Spiral pattern shall do to get them off.

Spiral pattern

Start in the centre and work your way out in a circular motion, never undoing one completely in one go,do it evenly in a couple of passes.

Same goes for doing it up.

Apaprently there is a few different specs of torque depending on what date of manufacture your car is.

Usually its 90-100Nm when cold.
The inlet manifold is only 15-20Nm
Dont strip them.
Search the Vfaq for help if u like
It may be have relevant stuff.

thanks for the help, just one thing how can i tell what year model the engine is as the engine isnt in a galant i have no idea what year model it came out of

Engine number
stamped on the side...
Thinks its either on the gearbox
Or near or around under the thermostat hosing.....?

Anyone..?

If u have an early model the torque is diff to a later model, where the models become different im not sure but i could find out.
Usually its as i said,90-100Nm. cold.
