Hey guys,

I'm about to remove my PCV and am wondering what is commonly used to block off the port on the inlet manifold?

Thanks!

Mat :)

Why are you removing it?!?!

cause they often leak, can add oil to the intake charge, can lower the octance rating of the air fuel mixture, sometimes when running high boost you need more crank case ventilation the PCV port is another place you can bleed to a catch can.

See how the PCV valve and valve cover vent are on opposite sides of the cover? This is so under vacuum you get a flow of air through the top of the valve cover pulling any moisture from blow by out. Water is a by product of cumbustion and if not removed mixes with other things to form acids and sludge.

Without the PCV you're relying on positive crankcase pressure to expel the gasses under the valve cover.

Under boost and load the PCV is blocked. It works under vacuum
