Im doing the 5 stud conversion and attempting to remove the rear hub, but I am stuck on how to get the bastard off!

Ive removed the caliper, disc rotor and undone the drive shaft nut..but cant see how to get the hub off??

This is where I am at right now...any help would be appreciated at this point!

I can see two threaded bolts sticking through from the back in between two of the studs..but cant see anyway of getting to them from the back...
Can I get someone WHO HAS DONE THIS to steer me in the right direction....I dont want someone who hasnt done it to guess or suggest...maybe this or maybe that...

I have this tool I found at cashies for $35...
But old style and metal box.

It bolts to back of the knuckle after you remove it and pushes the hub out from behind.
You will then need a press (edit. Bearing separator) to change your race on the hub as they are a matced set.

Id take off the knuckle and take them to a work shop that can push the hub and change the races

SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. :fuuuuu: :fuuuuu: :fuuuuu: ..was hoping you wouldnt say that.

Thanks for the info but.

hammer them off? lol good luck , ive done the 5 stud conversion and rears were much worse to get off then the fronts, You will defintly need a press and if you don't know what your doing let someone qualified , don't fuck with press's if you aint got the know how

Definitely a trailing arm off and press them out from behind job, we did mine with a press.

You'll need to be careful when pressing the new bearings in too, the first time around we misaligned the inner and outer races on the replacement pair, started grinding the guts of them when driving and needed to put fresh bearings in (again).

Lol...That is a waste of paper..dont you think I checked that first? All that is good for is wiping my arse.
Like I said originally...If you havent done this job dont guess or suggest things which dont work.

yea i was in same position as you but had to take off that bitch and put it on a press. but its all worth it in the end

um evo-gsr I HAVE DONE THIS that is the WORKSHOP manual for the cc lancer sedan/gsr awd it contains the diss assembly procedure for drums fwd disk and awd disks. it also contains the press specs to reinstall the bearing correctly and the correct Mitsubishi part numbers

i was also 2 pages to many for disassembly thats on page 20 and 21

so i would appreciate you dropping your little vendetta and attitude

you pull the hub off with a slide hammer and then press out the old bearing race from the hub you then press out the old bearing from the trailing arm.

then you press the new bearing into the trailing arm and to hub into that. you then perform the checks out lined in the manual to ensure the install is within spec

Kyle...if you look at the picture I have posted and you look at the pictures in your precious manual that you swear by you will see they are 2 different things.
Everyone else in here, except you, has said that the entire trailing arm has to be removed to finish the job I am attempting.
The people that have suggested this have a proven track record so I will go by what they suggest.
There is no " attitude or vendetta " to drop.

Ashwin....no need to pay for something which I or my mates can achieve...more money for Jack Daniels then!

If you actually read what I posted you would see that it mentions the control arm and pressing the bearing out of it. It just does not picture the entire arm. To save space. I would take a screen shot an d point out exactly where it says trailing arm with a small cross section illustrating how the bearing assembles by being pressed into the arm but I'm on my phone right now

I haven't contradicted anything the above have said merely supplied you with the manufacturers instruction for removal and assembly

If any one would like to confirm that I have posted the correct instructions that'd be great
