Hey guys,
Thought id ask here first. Done a search but found nothing.
I'm in the process of removing my dash, and this is the only thing holding it in place.
Its the clip holding the speedo cable in place, behind the cluster.
How do I remove the white clip? I just cant seem to find anyway to unattach it.
Help most appreciated.

Just fiddle with it till it comes off. there's two tabs that need to be pressed to move it out of position. its abit of a PITA to take off.

Ill need to do this again shortly too...I did it once before and somehow broke the bastard of a thing...Ill be interested in finding out the method used too!!!

I've been able to press the tabs to undo the big clip, so I've got that wiggling around. Is that all that comes off? Because if so, I still cant pull the dash out!
Is it one solid unit? Or does the middle section undo from the big clip?

push the clips in and then the cable will lift up out of the white bit from memory

i think you need to push it in too to compress the spring

Man thats easy as to remove! :)
A picture is worth a thousand words... see below

1. Unscrew the speedo cable from the gearbox in the engine bay first!
2. Then get back inside and push the two little clips in the centre together to free it out of the dash hole and pull it towards the driver.
3. Then to remove the actual cable out of the white U-bracket you only need a little bit of muscle to push it out the top of the "U". It seems like it will break but it wont. It presses in and it presses out tightly. Ive done it a thousand times and never broken one ever. :)

if your only trying to get the dash out and not the actual cable you don't have to undo the cable from the box dean. it just makes it a little easier if you taking it out altogether.

For ease.
Once you remove the white bracket out of the hole in the dash, you can pull the whole thing towards yourself a few inches. Then do the index finger/thumb technique to push the cable out of the top of the white bracket. 5 second job, piss easy to do.

sorry to bring up an old thread, going by the picture of deans dash/cluster... i've removed and put back the dash and now the speedo doesnt work... where the speedo cable is thats attached to that white bracket, theres a spring aswell thats on the speedo cable, does that sit in front of the white bracket or behind it? thanks

Yeh basically. Hold The Spring tight and pull the whole cable towards you, and then it should just slot straight in (Its quite a tight fit, and very fiddly)
When you put the taco back in you should hear a click.
