Hey guys,

Looking to rent a car for an interstate trip from Melbourne to Adelaide..

Looking at getting a nice 4wd.. like a Range Rover or something similar.. if not, a LandCruiser would suffice.

Do you guys know of any places that dont have such a small cap on the km's allowed?

Cheers Peter

At work we always use Hertz.
Not sure what the deal is but we do over 10,000km's at a time!
Make sure you get insurance.
Excess is about 3k.
Insurance is about 25 dollars per week or so with zero excess.

Just shop around, there are differences in price.

Why don't you fly there and hire when you get there??

Depends on how many are going with you I guess

The entertainment book has discount vouchers in the back if you have one. if not let me know who you choose and ill see if its in the book

something like a pajero will set you back $100 per day

we used turnbulls for targa this year
went over the kays so it did add up(we did nearly 3000 though)

thanks fellas..

i tried hertz and got quoted $380 for a lexus rx350 for friday morning and return monday morning, plus $39 per day for insurance.. and you get about 600kms.. extra kms are charged at 27.5 cents, which is a bargain..

Why do you want to drive to Adelaide? I fly there weekly and it only takes an hour from Melb and about 1.5 return (flying against the winds).

Some of the early morning Jetstar flights are dirt dirt cheap too.

PS - there's some awesome restaurants I can recommend if you're staying in the city area
