Ok it's time to repaint the old girl.
I am thinking of leaving it White but with a matt black bonnet and front + side skirts in matt black with the indented peace in the side skirts white.
How about some idea's.

Black cars look great!! But as much as I love black as a colour for cars, Ive owned 3 black cars in my life and they all demanded more attention from me to look of it. After this Ralliart Magna goes, Im never getting a black car again.
When I had a gloss black bonnet and bootlid the dust stood out like Julia Gillard's red hair, even though the rest of the car looked schmick and clean. Embarassed to drive out with dust on the bonnet & bootlid, I'll give it a quick polish or brush over with a duster.
Even take a look at the matte black paint around the windows on your door frames etc. If it looks like shit and shows up every scratch, dent and grease mark, then that's what Im talking about but on a larger scale

matt black will need a ceramic clear as well, otherwise finger prints, etc. etc. will all leave marks. And you can't wax/polish it. Good fun. Not sure how expensive that stuff is either...

I don't think black cars are that bad :p you should be cleaning your paint often enough to keep it looking respectable! :p

I sell 2pk Matt black, and you don't need ceramic clear for it, all 2 pack paints can give the Matt appearance its only a binder added to the paint. If you watch Fast 5, Chem Spec ( which I' work for the Victorian distributor) was used on all 100+ cars in that film. The binder can either be added to 2k direct gloss paint or 2k Clear coat and depending on the amount added to the paint you can go from a satin finish all the way to a Matt finish. Alot of guys doing resto's on xy/xw gt's stripe their cars with this binder as its a more factory look than vinyl decals.

I'm based in Campbellfield Victoria so PM me if you want more details, even check out my Album as I repainted my Evo 6 over Xmas.

Or give me a call on 0407026563

Cheers Anf

I used that 3m matte wrap on my window frames and that was pretty fiddley wouldn't be keen to have a crack at a whole car lol.

The vinyl wrapping definitely is not as easy as it looks, to do. Had a crack at it a few times and in the end gave up and paid a professional to do it!!!
Extremely fiddly especially on curved surfaces..on flat surfaces its a piece of piss...throw in a few curves and angles and it all goes to shit pretty quickly!!

Everything looks easy when your a pro lol. I watched all those YouTube clips with the guys wrapping the lambo the Porsche and the Ferrari and I struggled with 4 window frames, they came up really good but the time that it took I could have stripped, rubbed and painted 20 window frames

The other thing about black and such dark colours

Every little imperfection in the body under the paint will stand out like a doggies whatsits!
If the prep isn't perfect you will hate it forever.
