Hey guys

my vr4's clearcoat is peeling pretty badly on the front left quarter panel and on the boot lid:unsure: and I was just wondering if anyone's got any experience with repairing peeling clearcoat and the best technique so that the respray's not too obvious...

ive talked to a few mates and they recommend peeling it back as far as possible, geting some wet n dry sandpaper and getting the transition edge as smooth as possible, and then spraying on some new clearcoat...

wat do you guys reckon?

any help would be much appreciated

cheers
Mike.

sorry to say mate but it doesnt work that way.
definately needs to be feathered out, primed over your repair area, colour blended then clear over quarter and bootlid.
best bet is too get a crash repairer to do it, or if you have a mate as a spray painter that could do it.
unless youve got a spray gun and decent air compressor laying around then id tell you wat needs to be done anbd wat material

cheers for that dan.
i'll have to check with one of my mates, but i dont have the equipment available at the mo so i guess its probably off to the crash repairers for me...
if that changes i'll give you a yell
