HI all,
Driving the car around the block on the weekend showed up some noises that I hadnt noticed whilst just going up and down the drive.

I had a nasting noise from the front right that appears to be the wheel bearing.
I now have the knuckle off and swapping the bearing seems rather involved.

Does anyone have a front right knuckle with a good bearing in it for a 95 GSR?

I am being a bit slack but looking for a quick solution.

TIA
Emil

Easy solution would be take it to a mechanics shop pay them to press old bearing out and press new bearing in...quite an easy job with the right tools. Or do it yourself if you know someone with a press.

a guy charged me $25 to press out the old bearing and press in. go to bearings wholesalers as they have really good prices, ive found them cheaper than ebay for my CB in the past

lol i had to make up brackets to perss the buggers out ay, eventually they came. Also have a bracket for any future bearing lol , if you were in townsville i would do em for free.. lol

I can do it.

BUT....be warned that if the bearing has been stuffed for a while, the outer race can spin in the knuckle and wear away the knuckle. So before you rush out and buy bearings and seal...press out the old bearing to check for suitability of repair.

I also might have a complete knuckle...but will have to dig around the shed to see.

OK
Bit the bullet and purchased a bearing kit, Just need to press the race out of the hub.
got the othr bits out fine without a press, Will get the last out and refit it.
old ball bearings had nice ridges in them, . i wonder if the hub was to tight?
or maybe it was just getting old .

Rgds

OK, New bearing in and done. Feels OK a little tight but I am sure it will come good after a run around the block.
One less problem now sorted.
On to the next problem, oil leak around the exhaust but thats another post!
