Replacing front rotors on CB lancer Gsr

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Its easy mate...

Remove 2 bolts that secure caliper.
Remove disc/rotor.

Do it in reverse to install new ones.

You may or may not need to open the calipers a touch to fit new rotors in.
I use a wooden handle to avoid damage to the pad.

Thnaks.
It's just that the rotor bolt seem to be holding the disc rotor in place. The roto loks like it being held in place by the botls.
Then agan, I'll have a nother look and let you know how I go.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Cheers
Rob

On a cb lancer you need to split the hub in order to replace front rotors. Its a good opportunity to replace wheel bearings also ;)

yes, they are captive rotors on a CB and it is quite an involved job to change them.

Personally, i recommended doing a floating disk conversation. if you google hard enough you should find a thread where i show you how.

to change the the rotor, you need to remove the whole hub assembly from the strut and lower control arm, remove the drive shaft (and stub) from the hub, and use a shop press to separate the hub stub from the carrier. you would be in a good position to replace the wheel bearings at the same time.

its a big job, i find it easier to remove a gearbox hahahaha
