reverse switch options

is there a way of turning on the reverse lights without using the reverse switch on the gearbox? my switch is rooted but i need a way to get the reverse lights on for a roadworthy. its the only thing left so i really need a soulotion.

Get another reverse light switch would be the easiest way.

But you could fit a manual switch in the cabin to do it (whether they will accept that for a roadworthy is another matter.

how would you wire a micro switch without it being tripped in 5th gear as well.

how is the reverse switch rooted? I know that if you have the wrong washer under it the switch gets crushed by the selector.You just have to open up the edge around the ball on the switch sso it looks as if it is 1/4 out.does that make sense to anybody?every front wheel drive and vr4 box i got from wreckers, i found the switch was either smashed on the top but i still could use the connections.or the washer was left off under the switch.the ball has to be released from the switch housing to turn on reverse lights. i hope that makes sense because ive had about ten switches that ive salvaged over the years.

yep, they get smashed on the top from when people dont remove them when removing the gearbox.

changing the switch will be heaps easier and probably just as cheap. if thats the actual problem though.


what eaxtly is wrong with it?
