hey guys as u know i just got a GSR with VR-4 motor etc
anyways when i got it it had a monstor tacho attached and the standard tacho is not working.
took out the monstor one and am trying to get the cluster tacho to work. after following the monster tacho to the engine bay and finding the loom it would seem that they have just chopped the wire(white) and were running the monster tacho straight to the ECU...
so i figured i would just reattach the white wire and all would be sweet did that tacho still didnt work..
after more investigation seems the Earth wire (black) was also chopped at the same place so we rewired it to a earth point in the car.. thinking now it should work still no luck..
i have tested the connection to the plugs behind the cluster the 2 wires are definatly looped and working.. i have also tested an EVO cluster in there thinking maybe the cluster was dead but that didnt work either.
ive also tested the connection on the back of the cluster all are working...
im at a complete loss is there somehing im missing??
i read somewhere about 1 coil on GSR and quad coil on VR-4?
