Does anyone notice on a cold start gear changes are rough. (could be gearbox oil, taking time to lubricate the synchros, or maybe gearbox oil hasnt reached efficiency temp) I shift at 2500 and the shift is a bit rough but it soon goes away after like 2 mins. Also on the change i get a slight jolt as i back of pedal clutch shift into gear back of clutch then pedal. Mechanic once told me could be the engine mount near strut tower cos its worn a bit...(maybe cos on the change engine freeplays a bit) im open to suggestions. :)

the oils gotta warm up mate, used to happen to me...
happened with my swift gti also...

its normal, but changing the oil to a better grade could help

75 is the norm i believe

well so far im not sure what transfer case oil (grade) i have in them but sure its full and not sure either with rear diffcase oil its full aswell. Grade im using for the gearbox is Syntrax 75-85 or 90 full synthethic. I had it in the box for about 6mths now. I've also heard that automatic trans fluid goes better with manual gearboxes? can you explain

redline is meant to be a mircle worker for box's....

maybe give it a shot..

seems like good stuff.. call jeff from techsport or darren from afas...
they know a good gearbox builder who would probably know what the problem is

I've never had a box that didnt' do this... even after a fresh rebuild and top quality oils.

Basically, if you let the box sit for too long, all the oil seeps off the gears and sits at the bottom of the box... as soon as you turn the car on the pumps start moving that oil around tho. Give the car 1-2 mins to get lubricated and you should be fine. No oil will "fix" this problem as the problem is the oil has dripped off the gears!

Thats not true. Thats why you get thicker oil isn't it? If you went to something like 80w it should stick better, but may not be good for the box.

Or am i mistaken?
