running rough

Has anyone had rough idle on a vr4 4g63t. Ive replaced leads, spark plugs from densos to ngk s and it runs even worse. So I put the old denso plugs back in. I can smell fuel smell in cabin occasionally. Seems to run rich and slight miss on idle. Runs fine on boost. Not sure if related but I used a thinner oil than I should have a couple of oil changes ago 0w 50 penrite. Catch can filled up very quickly. Have since gone back to hpr 15. It has adaptronic ecu. Tdo5 small. In cc lancer fwd. Was running 7psi. I changed boost gauge to vacuum/ boost and it is reading 10 psi on boost. I replaced boost hoses at the same time.
 
If it has 0 vacuum on idle, then it is a massive boost leak, and that would definitely make it run rough (to give you an idea, mine sits at -20 at idle)
 
Where the gauge tee'd into? T/B hoses dont read vaccum, I was thinking maybe ya inlet manifold gaskets leaking

either way, ya gunna need to leak test it
 
Thanks for replies. One Exhaust mani bolt is broken . I m in the process of making a boost leak tester to find the leak. Boost gauge is teed into the tb
 
Tee'd onto the throttlebody? Hope it's not on the little nipple up top, you need to tee it off the intake manifold nipple on the end of the manifold lead has the vacuum hose that leads to the fuel pressure reg
 
Go to the cam belt end of the manifold look at the fuel rail see the valve thing on the end it has a vacuum hose on I t your boost gauge into that!
