hi guys, have searched the forum to see if this question has been asked before but could not find it anywhere....
i have a 93 gsr with a 4g63,t30 rb garret and autronic ecu, have started getting into track days and loving it!! have decided to mainly use the car on the track but still be able to drive it on the road on the odd occasion,
am looking for a fair power gain so was suggested by my mechanic that i could set the car up to run on sunoco fuel for track days, then run another map in the ecu to handle pump fuel for street use,i guess the big issue is removing all of the fuel from the car before changing maps.
was thinking that i may be able to set up an inline pump on the fuel tank drain to completely empty the tank then was hoping that what fuel was left in the system would burn out ok at idle??
can anyone steer me in the right direction,as to wether the above set up would work or are there easier options available to me for equivalent power gains as a race fuel map??
thanks guys :D

i read somewhere some guys were running two seperate fuel tanks, one for pump and one for race and they could switch it with the flick of a switch..

it sounds expensive though but maybe an option..

use the drain plug on the bottom of the tank to remove any fuel that is left
in the tank before swaping

Having 2 fuel tanks sounds like more fun than draining the tank every time you go to the track :D Shame we don't get E85 here, it appears a couple of the US galant guys are having a lot of good times with that...

I guess the real question is how much more boost can you get out of the T30.. I mean if you're running it close to the edge of the efficiency of the turbo...

can you not just use the fuel till the light comes on and then refill with the other fuel, would that little bit mixed in make any difference?

i think there may still be too much fuel left in the tank after the light comes on,the mechanic did explain it to me but not 100% clear on how it works,i think it is ok to have a small amount of pump fuel left when swapping to race fuel but system needs to be empty when swapping map back to pump fuel?? something to do with timing differences which can lead to engine damage??
