Hi,

anyone know where's the fuel pump relay (97 RVR hsg)?

Turned on the car today and it turned on fine, while waiting for it to heat up it just stopped, when I tried to started it again it wouldn't start, it cranks but won't start.

Also I can't hear the fuel pump anymore (replaced the fuel pump not long ago with a walbro 255).

Thanks...

On the cc lancer it is behind ashtray. big gold thing.
try there...

It is actually 2relays in the same box and typical for mitsi around similar era. proton split them into 2 normal relays and so are easier to replace.

When you find it the (lancer) colours are black/blue trace. bridging them should power the pump for testing

Thanks for the reply "jack of all"

Tried there and no luck.

I'm sure its either the relay or the fuel pump itself.

I replace the original with a Walbro 255 not long ago but I think I got a fake and now it's dead =[

So with the lancer, there is a inspection plate under rear seat to access the pump. you will be familiar with how to access pump if you have replaced it...

Access the wiring and backprobe for power at the pump. If you have power the pump is bad. if not, you need to look further.
The lancer also have a pump diagnostic plug in the engine bay on the firewall. one plug is the timing plug. the other is a pump diagnostic plug. check here for power when you turn key. it should flash to 12v for a bit (5sec ish).

I don't know if the walbro's like running on 6v (someone step in and correct me if i am wrong  ) may look at running 12v constant but the fakes are out there hate s*@# like that making money off the expense of the end user....

I second the vote for Meek Automotive, they are good people and are out at Seven Hills and good to deal with. Talk to Chris (02) 9838 8810.

Thanks a lot guys.

yea I don't know how I didn't think of Meek. I take my car there usually.

But bought one from JDMyard in Smithfield.

Car is good now, but I thought Walbro pumps were abit noisy and you can hear them running, this one is quite.

But thanks a lot for the help =]
