Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the nimbus front and rear bumpers will fit the RVR HSG? Or if the SSG bumper's bullbar comes off without leaving any giant holes?

Obviously I would need to do some trimming to clear the FMIC.

Thanks

I took my bullbar off the ssg.

Which fmic did you look at? i had a couple from previous cars, even tried to front mount the stock tmic setup, the ssg bar just seems too thin ?

I have a HSG so I have the stock FMIC, but I want to dull down the look of the HSG a little. But thanks for letting me know about the bullbar, though as you said I may run into issues with the FMIC.

Is the SSG's bumper and grill one or two piece?

I went with W/A to avoid the work of trying to fit a FMIC on mine, a look at the available space in front of the A/C condenser made it fairly obvious that their was little chance of putting anything in there without making it look like a hack

and slash job, it took a bit of stuffing about to get the W/A radiator in. I used a CC lancer A/C condenser as the radiator and still had to modify the top of it to get it to clear the bonnet catch as well as removing the bonnet support.

You may be able to fit a smaller IC in there though, but it would be a fair bit smaller than the stock HSG one and probably pointless considering the cost vs performance.

Considering the SSG has a top mount, I's assume they couldn't fit a front mount in anywhere behind the bar.

After taking a good look, It is possible, but would be in the range of 500 X 280 X 70, this includes end tanks.

Here are some pics of what you have to work with. All the pics got mixed around during upload. Adjustment done, don't mind the mess

Pic 5: This is where you would have to cut in order to route some cold side pipework to the engine bay. The pipe will need to do a couple of tight 90° bends then hug the inside of the bumper before

being routed through the inner guard and up to the engine bay where the battery is/was. It is only an edge trim that is needed, if done correctly it shouldn't affect the front of the bumper, just the

edge area. You'll need to pull out and cut the plastic garnish as well. I can post up another pic if needed.

Pic 4: This is the space at the end of the A/C condenser without the radiator, I have an auto radiator in mine so it takes up the whole width at around 740mm, the manual should be smaller as you can

see the alternate bolt holes when you look at the upper radiator support. This may allow a hotside pipe to be routed through with a bit of massaging depending on diameter of pipe.

Pic 3: Total height from the lower support panel to the bottom of the "trimmed" bonnet catch. 280mm high IC should work here.

Pic 2: This is the width at the centre of the bumper to the A/C condenser, it reduces to around 90mm towards the headlights, so a 70mm wide IC should fit.

Pic 1: Measuring from the headlight tab on the drivers side to the A/C condenser piping gives a figure of 520mm and as mentioned above, the core width would be less the tank ends.

Pic 6: This is the tabs on the grill that will need to be trimmed to accommodate an intercooler.

It is totally possible, just needs a bit of playing about, creating a sleeper look is a bit more of a faff because everything has to be put in places it's not meant to be. Wow, that reminds me of a girl I used to know

Hope this helps shed some light on what is possible and the work it involves.

Thank a lot for the photos and measurements, awesome job.

It seems like it's a pain in the arse but I am going to have a crack at it.

I don't suppose anyone has an SSG front bar laying around? :)

Rear bumper fits ..BUT leaves gaps on the corners (under the tail lights) and is a little to long also had to put in some nut-serts to hold it on (the holes are there already used the nimbus support bar), I will be getting a mate who plas-welds to graft the flare part and the top under the tail lights off my HSG rear bar onto the nimbus bar will put some pics up when i get the car back :)

If you could get some pictures of the finished bar that would be awesome, thanks for the info I might just get a SSG and swap everything I want over to it, that sounds like it would be easier!

Have not forgotten about you and the pics I still don't have my car.... hope to get it back this weekend but not holding my breath if you know what i mean the tuner has missed several deadlines that he set .... I will be posting pics when the RVR is home :)

reminds me of this guys old SSG, but if you trim any of the metal support inside the bumper = defect.
