Can someone please enlighten me on the RVR Hypergear TPS...

Is the RVR tps different to the Evo 1,2,3 or VR4? different as in the way it turns? only asking, because i was changing my factory one to a larger one (to suit my plenum) for an evo 3 70mm throttle body and my TPS spins anti clockwise and the throttle body requires a clockwise.

I don't want to buy an evo TPS to find it's the same as what i have BUT if they are different then it's a simple fix

thanks for the help...

I thought they were the same.
Be aware the plug sticks out in a different direction on some tps. This may interfere with things. Eg- magna tps on magna tb on g93, the plug hits the manifold pressure take off. I used a sonata tps and it was ok.

whats the difference in the tb? Does the cable pull from the bottom instead of the top? Or tps on opposite end of throttle?
Make sure you have a 4 pin tps so you have the throttle closed signal from tps to ecu

the current RVR TB pulls from the front at the top (well mine was mixed up on its side as i have a hypertune intake manifold) the larger evo one sits the same and i built a bracket to hold the cable like factory to pull from the front... all works fine etc but the TPS needs to spin the opposite way..

Both of the RVR TBs have the TPS closest to the firewall and go anticlockwise, 6 bolts like the Hyundai sonata have their TPS facing the front of the car and go clockwise, as does TR magna, 4g93 SOHC and 4g15? if I'm not mistaken?

I cross checked a TPS to match the TR magna 60mm and it was the same part number as the 1.8 cc lancer one (4g93). You will have to check the inputs not sure if they have the same number........not sure why this is in bold, but I'm going to run with it anyway!!
There is a way to rewire the 3-4 wire or vice versa, I don't happen to know what that is because I learned to make blue cheese this week and it must have pushed a chunk of memory out that probably included the bit related to the TPS rewire.
I have a spare from a CC 1.8 that you can have to try if you want ;)

Not sure if this is much help, actually it probably made things more confusing................I ate too much codeine.

thanks i will put pics up soon.. i just assumed they would bolt on and be good...
even just a picture of the back of the TPS would be good..

My setup the throttle body was on its side with the TPS to the bottom BUT if it was mounted correctly it would be against the firewall.

so for any one that changes there throttle body to a larger one that suits an EVO 3 you will need the TPS here is the EVO & RVR TPS.. in the end that is all i needed an evo 3

Also to swap the wires around

How dumb are mitsi to make one part in two different forms...Surely it would of been more cost effective to make it a one part fits all affair? ?
Would love to know the reasoning behind it.

i believe it's because of the throttle body cable location and where it activates from..

RVR pulls from the front of the Throttle body
