hey guys thought I'd put up a few picks of my updated build as the last high compression turbo build finally let go on the old setup I made (can see the old build on my page ) I did everything from scratch by my self
now since then the motor of coarse only handled abit over a year regular services and 13psi of boost threw the gt2871 the pressure was too much and it let go on top of the big end tooth pick rods haha compared to the forged ones
new setup was changed for the better
lancer gsr motor pulled apart and inspected was actually clean as
noticed these rods are just as thick as the standard proton gti rods so they never went back in and ordered the following goodies to update on what I last had .
565cc injectors 16ohm denso
walbro high flow 450lph fuel pump
mls head gasket
ARP head studs
exedy HD clutch with upgraded HD pressure plate 30% stronger than HD pressure plate of coarse haha thanks to the boys at NPC
all new gaskets and seals were put on this motor and clearances checked
forged rods were added and ran into a drama with the pistons so sorted that out with a dremel tool and grooved the standard pistons to take the cerclip everything was lubricated and assembled everything was checked over to assure nothing fouls and moves nice and smoothly all bottom end bearings were swapped out and new king bearings added in std size and clearances checked with feeler gauges went a shade colder with spark plugs and ran some NGK 7 heat range iridium plugs
coilovers were added as a suspension update and handles even better now
compression test yielded over 180psi to all the cylinders even on the 8.5.1cr
all the oils used was fully synthetic penrite oils as well as the gearbox oil too and all fluids done
installed a half sized radiator and found some hoses to sort the right bends out in the supercheap auto pile making more room for future mods I have in mind
aircon and power steering was kept
battery was relocated to the front bumper area similar to my oil cooler setup
and a custom set of guards were bought and a gsr bonnet and the fiberglass bumper will be hopefully moulding a gsr bonnet to look like a evo 3 bonnet soon enough
will pop up the picks a lot more is to be done like I want to go back to projector headlights and wanting the dark orange lensed blinkers like the evo
will be moulding the original satria flares and adding more length to them and abit more bulge I think it should all come up nicely

I'm currently stripping a Satria i picked up for cheap and slowly converting it to AWD / 4G63T and making it a Mitsubishi Colt/Mirage by using a CC coupe front end.
New to this so it's a lil daunting. Have GSR floorpan/fuel tank and rear assembly.
Your build looks sweet mate. What suspension are you running?
