I drove my mates evo5 with 522kw the other day, he is using a beatrush shifter, the shifting is spot on, throw is short and feels bloody beautiful

This is the shifter that in mates evo5

Link below shows someone who has thrown a later shifter in the early models

this is a work of art

So If that can be done, then a sequential setup can be made to suit early models yeh?

I found this, says minor mods to fit and works with dog and syncros

And then Ikeya Formula

Mick has talked to me about getting one so they must be available. U mean to eliminate the H pattern?

I know a few folks who ran an Ikeya on a couple of III's and a II. One of which was used in conjunction with a PPG gearkit.

It wasn't pretty. Dragging of the gears was apparent.

The later Evo shifter fitted by 'Evo1RS' seems to have held up fine, and without issue.

I guess it all comes down to ironing out teething troubles with the (cheaper) later Evo shifter before throwing hard cash on the the likes of a sequential shifter.

I have bought an EVO5 shifter base, just need to suss out a few things, downside is the base is plastic so cant modify to make it sit lower, the early lancer bases have a step while newer is flatish

If it had a metal base then it would be piss easy to do, the beatrush would be perfect to mod but just cant justify spending $800 just to cut n weld and see if i can make it fit
