Hi can the throttle postion sensor be set with the throttle body of the car but with all plugs still plugged in and using a dattalogger to adjust it? i found it harder to set the tps last time with it in place where it is.

Also does any other car use this same tp, i think the one i got is broken, i try to turn it and it the reading on the dattalogger doesnt pick it up and hesitates where as my broken still was able to be adjusted, does any of these hyundais etc use this same tps?

You could as long as the TPS is still bolted to the TB & you clip a lead from the engine to TB to make sure you getting the same ground reference as the rest of the engine. You then need to loosen the screws . Turn the TPS until you get .64v( I think that is the voltage). Check the DSM FAQ for voltage range. on the logger when you have no throttle & 5v when fully open.

It would be just a easy when the car is bolted together, & have less chance of if moving.

I know what you mean Andy. I just leave the bottom screw a bit loose and use only the top one to lock the TPS into place. It's a real pain getting to that lower one. Does anyone else have any tricks to do them both without pulling the fuel rail out?
I have the really small socket wrench (I think it's called 1/8 inch drive??) and I've tried using that uni joint / flex adaptors and some other combos but there's just not enough room in there hey, not even for a small ring spanner.

I know there must be someone here knows and is hiding the trick from us. :p

tps is stuffed, just tryed different ways, it keeps going down to 0.3 and when i press really hard with my finger on to the cap it goes to 10.5 where i had roughly and when i take finger of it goes down to 0.7 then to 0.3 eventually, and i cant get rid of check engine light!!!

Yeh im with you, i did the same with my broken tps, left the bottom screw a tad bit loose, enough to move then used the top screw to tighten it into place but it doesnt qwork with this one.
When i mentioned in my previous post about putting my finger onto the cap and it stays set, well i tightened the top screw and then took the t/b off AGAIN and whilst i knew it was quite close to being set, i tightened the bottom screw but when i chucked it all back together thinking ive got it really tight the tps would still be at 0.3.
So must be this tps i got

Thats a good idea to keep the bottom bolt a finger tight until it is correct. I have a 1/4" mini rachet & 8mm socket.
I find if you remove the bracket from the head to the TB ( 3 x 12mm bolts you can get to it.
I have a spare TPS if you need 1.
