Does anyone here have any experiences
with CUSCO Hyper Gum Shift Linkage Bushings?
I'm interested in what people think of them
because I've got some on order.
(So I hope they're not crap  )

they are still rubber ones arent they?

should be a little improvement in shift throw and feel.

much better than the standard slogged out rubber thats for sure

Yeah mate stll rubber, just harder than the OEM bushings.

"The Cusco shifter bushings are made of their own hyper rubber compound and offer more precise shifts with less slop. Install these on your car and you will be able to immediately feel the difference".

There's 120K kms on the stock bushings so I figure
replacing them won't hurt so to speak. I'll write a review
once they're installed.

^^^^
"in a drawer in the shed that is"

Yep Steve that's them.
I thought about going brass but I figured rubber
would be less harsh for noise etc...
(OK I admit I just wanted some Cusco bling  )

I don't expect my bushings to be too flogged out,
just figured 120K k's is enough on the stockers'.

Ive been running the Meek brass shift bushes for over 2 years now never had and noise issue's with them,
I prefer feeling everything in the shifting rather than a softened feel, makes shifting feel very Precise.

D'oh! Wish I'd know that before I ordered the Cusco ones.
Oh well, guess the Cusco will be ok though.
I just had a look at the OEM bushings in my car and they're
still in good condition, but man are they soft.
More like round black sponges than rubber.

Just out of interest where do these fit? My shift quality is pretty woeful compaired to my old Toyota (W-series box), I think some gearbox oil is in order but was wondering if these could also be a bit shagged.

had some brass ones on my old vr4 with a short shifter. the diffrence and feel is unbelivably diffrent and tight. im not too sure with the evos but with vr4s make sure the shifter plate is then bolted directly to the floor for that bit of extra 'tightness'
skuz

Installed them today. Woohoo no more slop!
Did a test run up MacQuarie Pass. Gear-change is awesome.
Very highly recommended and so easy to install
even I found it easy to do.

Did you install every single bushing in the cusco kit? I would also like to install them in my car :)

I've got the beat rush shifter plate bushes and meek brass linkage bushes installed in my EVO and it shifts heaaaaaps better now! Highly recommended mod!

Have the shifter arm/other end of the linkage bushes ready to pick up from Trav- will let you know the improvements!

I am going to try bolting the plate directly to the car.
