From ASI - will replace the factory intake pipe. Doesn't look like a bad option if you are retaining the factory air filter position/MAF.

Defiantly some food for thought and will add a few bling points

if thats your engine bay in your avatar, will definitely suit.

anyone used one of these before...?

would you be able to respray that with any kind of paint...?

Yeah that is my bay but I already have a s/steel intake.

Honestly no idea about painting silicone. Body spray cans etc. wont work - they wont stick well to the silicone, but I am sure that you could find something in a craft shop, or there is probably a form of primer which can be used.

I dont like your luck painting silicon but you would be able to stain it, we were just atlking about this last week and here it is a week later someone has done it.
HKS RS FTW

Nice!

As long as these are the nice hard type, dont get the soft ones which can collapse under suction

So who is going to be the first Guinea pig to buy this silicon intake replacement pipe?

I'm sure if it was priced around the 200 delivered they would sell shed loads of them ;)

i thought they would collapse under suction too.

this is somthing mikey would buy
come on buy it mikey be our Guinea pig :)

ive seen other cheapintake pipe off ebay and they have all been quite solid in their construction...but we need a Guinea pig come on Mik e you know you want to! just use some purple leather dye and presto

I got a couple from trade me a while back.....I think it was STAPARTS. they look idectical to this but have M&h on them. Ive fitted one to an E1 that is running around the 17 pound mark, quality seem good. they were however dearer than that but not by a lot. fairly smooth on the inside...no convolutions like the std rubber. with the ones i have, I believe it would be hard to get paint to stick and stay on.

Not hugely convinced. If you can relocate the battery I'd still go for the Forced Performance one.
HKS RS intake pipe and keep your battery where it is ;)

The HKS pipe is ridiculously expensive though (although it is HKS and so is bound to give you at least 50whp more!), and is much thinner when it comes to the pipe than the FP 4" one, due to the things it has to go round.
